Tome Raider, Part 4

The party begins to search the darkened halls for the Shadow Guard destroying tomes of ancient records and knowledge. Before venturing too far into one long passage Aiyana turns back. She waves her companions on and explains her intense fear over the situation. Aiyana flees up the stairs and out of the library.

Blackbird McAllister takes the lead, and lights his torch to help aid their search. Even the dim light of the torch is overwhelmed by the inky black darkness of this chamber.

Akasha tugs on Blackbird's elbow and nods to the east. At this point she is pretty sure they are lost, but her keen sense of hearing detects movement off to the east.

Benziken, Piker Big Coin, and Khan McDoo follow closely. Each of them seems on edge following Elder Hirthryu's warning concerning the Shadow Guard. The party edges forward - each fondling the grip of their favored weapon.

Countless thousands of books and thick tomes stack on one another building walls of books. The walls become an interconnected series of halls formed by books. And stuffed in the cracks, crevices, and corners are scrolls and notes from those who've passed this way before.
