How Do I Get Started?

What Core Ruleset Is The World Built Around?
Realms of Adventures is built using a completely original and new Focus Time-based attribute and statistics rules set. Developed through the collaboration of Andrew Jackson, J.D. Honore, Andy Novocin, and their role playing gamer groups. The system has been built from the ground up, and rigorously game tested for your enjoyment.
The unique Focus Time-based system is a versatile and lightweight game mechanic that lends itself to any style of game play. The system works best with fast paced and exciting games that demand continuous action and imaginative game play!
In addition - Realms of Adventures accepts gaming resources from ALL major published role playing games. If there is a game world, or genre your adventuring party would like to explore, contact Realms of Adventures to craft a campaign, host the game, and function as Game Master so you and your friends can enjoy the game!
More importantly - Realms of Adventures ultimately is bound only by your imagination! If you can conceive of a character, creature, item, skill, spell, or scenario - Realms of Adventures was built to handle it.
How Does The Game Progress, Are There Turns?
The Game Master posts an initial scene in the form of a blog post. The Player(s) will post a reaction as a comment to the blog post, when it is convenient to their personal schedule. The Game Master and Player(s) interact within the comments for a short period of time.
Once the scene is wrapped up, and it benefits the progress of the story, a new blog post will be created by the GM. Every turn during the adventure follows a set format. The GM will explain the current scene with a description of the location, any items or objects of interest, any creatures or non-player characters in the scene, and any possible (easily visible) exists.
Players make decisions for their characters, and climb as much as possible into the role of that character. The choices that you make are made on the fly, as the story progresses, and will impact all the other players - along with the very fabric of the world itself!
How Do I Impact Another World Through Blog Comments?
The players will submit their actions by comments to a blog post. As the players interact with the surroundings, items, creatures, and other players - the scene changes. Players must focus on guiding their character through the perils of the adventure each day via blog post comments between the Player(s) and the Game Master. The scenes will usually contain tricks, traps, riddles, encounters and combat.
Each turn that players complete will reveal more of the world in the following blog post. All the blog posts could be short descriptions, or several paragraphs of information used to describe surroundings, objects, creatures, non-player characters, events, and other players.
As a player, your job is simple: to react. When the Game Master sends the next part of the story by blog post, you read the story post and then figure out what your character would do in that situation. Some players may have a hard time writing more than two sentences when they begin at play-by-post role playing.
After using the system below player responses usually become much clearer and include a lot of insight into their character. You won't need to respond to every question on the list every time you post a turn. The list should help players as they sit down to write.
As an adventurer, I should think you are eager to begin! Sign up today - space is limited.
