Akasha approaches the old man on the floor, she bends over slightly and says "Well it looks like your wisdom grew so much your hair didn't have any room left, so I'm guessing you could answer a few questions for us."
She straightens up and wryly smiles at the aged scholar, "Do you know anything about the family of Drad Silor? And is there any chance you could point me towards someone with some arcane knowledge? I'm feeling the need for some magic learning in my near future and this place looks just stuffy enough to fit the bill."
The old scholar glances up at Akasha, and with a slight sneer points toward the stairs leading to the subterranean floors of the Hall of Genealogy. As Akasha makes her way toward the stairs, the old man gruffly shouts, "But the Office of the Overseer is where you should seek training in the arts..." And then buries his head back in his books...

Benziken is overwhelmed at the site of all the books. "This place must have a million books or more" he thinks aloud. He heads down to the subterranean floors. As he awkwardly makes his way down the stairs that were obviously made for much longer legs, he is astounded at how many more books are below the main floor. "There must be a thousand books down here for every book upstairs" he says aloud again.
He then begins to sing aloud, softly, has it has helped him to focus his attention in the past.
"A book of records, I must find;
To show that I've not lost my mind;
This is just a silly game;
Until I locate Silor's name."
Benziken continues to descend into the eerie and unsettling belly of this giant library, singing all the while to ease his nerves, when he feels a cold hand grasp his arm and pull him suddenly into a little area, much like a cave, with walls of books on either side.
In his wandering, and singing, the small hobbit bard has lost track of the turns he made. The entire party has been lead into a small dark area of the subterranean halls of the great library.
It appears that this small room, if you could call it a room, is formed by years of forgotten books that were thrown aside. There is a candle lit and set on a pile of books to one side of the room. Benziken tries to make out the face of whatever, or whomever has pulled him into this place. As his eyes adjust to the light, he is able to make out a face that is creased with deep wrinkles.
"Did you say the name Silor?" asked the creature.
"I do not know what you are speaking about," Benziken replied.
"When you were making your way down the stairway, I heard you singing about Silor's name. Legend has long held that one would come seeking the lineage of Silor. Are you alone?"
Fearful of what this creature might do to him if he was alone, Benziken quickly says "No." Blackbird, Akasha, Piker Big Coin, Khan McDoo, and Aiyana hear the conversation ahead of them and hurry to Benziken's side.
The creature continues "I have the key to the information you seek, but you shall not retrieve it from me until I am satisfied that you are not a traitor. There are those who long to be free from the powers that be, and the secrets that have been hidden will lead you to the freedom we all seek."
(Scene Description)
Countless thousands of books and thick tomes stack on one another building walls of books. The walls become an interconnected series of halls formed by books. And stuffed in the cracks, crevices, and corners are scrolls and notes from those who've passed this way before.
(Scene Items)
A small candle illuminates this dark 'room' walled by books the man has collected and studied over time.
(Scene NPCs)
The tiny man is know to others in the Hall of Genealogy as Elder Hirthryu. He looks withered, frail, and almost creature-like - but make know mistake - his knowledge may be more powerful than sharpened steel if the situation presented itself.
