To Arms! Or Four?

Coughing a bit and catching her breath Akasha leans gently back against the wall, shattered pieces of wood lay scattered at her feet and she marvels for a moment at the savage force of the impact this old door had just received. Glancing up she sees two men, or at least it looks like the cloaked figures are men, stop and stare at she and Blackbird McAllister.

Still a bit wheezy she manages to spit out a few words. "Um, the whole book mess outside... that was his fault," she says quite matter of factly as she points a condemning finger at Blackbird McAllister! Akasha smiles pleasently hoping for some new friends. She glances at Blackbird McAllister, a feeble attempt at telepathy, yelling in her mind to be ready for what she fears is the worst possible time for a fight.
The Shadow Guard abruptly turn at the crashing sound and face the adventurers. Within their hooded cloaks a dark mass is visible - and yet invisible. As if these figures are quite real and yet not there at all. The two figures approach the pair by the door, still wheezing to catch their breath.

Blackbird McAllister draws his dagger - cursing his ill prepared weaponry. He makes a mental note to visit a merchant as soon as they are top side. If they survive this mess that is.

From within the folds of their cloaks, the Shadow Guard each begin to open their arms. The figures each hold out two arms filled with a broadsword and wooden buckler shield. Then, quite unexpectedly, two more arms appear from behind each figure.

(Scene Description)
The circular room is lined with well ordered shelves set into the walls. From floor to ceiling the shelves are loaded with still more books. A few tables and benches are in set to one side of the room.

(Scene Items)
A large fire is burning with intense heat, it's flames almost licking the ceiling. The base of the fire is made up of what you can only assume to be the other tables and benches that once helped balance out the furniture settings.

(Scene NPCs)
Two figures in cloaks darker than night are approaching the party.

(Exits)
WEST: The passage is blocked by a pile of books spilling in through the door.
