Spells of Realms
There are a number of Spells which have been revealed to practitioners of magic within Realms of Adventures. It is certain that not all Spells have been discovered - and many may be lost forever - due to the efforts of dark forces seeking to limit the powers of the individual Houses.
A spell is a one-time magical effect. At this time, most Characters select their spells from a limited list of known spells. Most magic users will prepare their spells in advance - using a spell book or a series of prayers and incantations. However, some Characters may cast spells spontaneously without great preparation.
Casting a spell falls into the same category as Encounter Action Resolution, and Encounter Combat Resolution - depending on how you choose to perform the act of magic at any given time.
At this time, the Player should consult with the Game Master to determine the Gold Cost or Training Required for any spell he/she desires to learn. The Game Master will take into account the complexity of the proposed spell, the overall feel of the game, and other roleplaying core rulebook reference materials. In this way, early Players will directly contribute to defining Realms of Adventures Spells.
